Sleigh Bells are playin' The IndependentMay 30 and 31 and unless you got some connection to the mafia you ain't gettin' a ticket; SOLD OUT, both nights! Sleigh Bells have a psychotic sound, the vocals are not always so set apart from the music, but instead integrated into it as an augmentor or another instrument. Alexis Krauss' gentle, easily molded voice (not to mention she's a knockout!) is intriguing and almost reaches out to grab you deeper into each song. Then again, tracks like Kids and Riot Rhythm don't fuck around. They're hardcore jams a-la M.I.A. Check out the entire album, Treats, it definitely is one. If you're dying for tix, scope out Craigslist and StubHub you may get lucky, sucker!
