Hot Child in the City...

If you're in San Francisco today you're a lucky son-of-a-bitch! It's absolutely gorgeous today; the perfect day to say fuck it to chores, fuck it to work and fuck it to well...pretty much anything that doesn't involve booze and sun. This song is speaking volumes to me. If you haven't discovered Janelle Monae yet this is a great place to start and this sexy vid suits it perfectly. You'll find me @ Dolores park making love to palm trees.

Janelle Monae: Mushrooms and Roses

Coming to a Bimbo's near you...Yacht.

After listening to some Yacht you might be surprised to discover that the group hails from the West Coast. They got that French-electro-synth-otherworld thang going on. They're coming to our lovely city April 13 @ Bimbo's 365 Club and from what I've been reading their shows are fantastic! For 18 bones you can't go wrong. You can get a free download of their newest single Dystopia below. Check it.

Natasha Khan doesn't Sleep Alone.

For you Bat for Lashes fans who can't wait for their next album, which according to Natasha Khan, is in the works; here's a cover of Depeche Mode's Strangelove. It's decidely Bat for Lashes with a dash of Depeche Mode synth as homage. You may also want to check out the bands collab with Beck which was included in the Twilight Eclipse soundtrack.

We all wanna be The Naked and Famous

Making an album this perfect from start to finish is almost impossible, almost. The Naked and Famous got it done! Passive me, Aggressive you will take you from a Friday night party to Sunday Funday! It's one of those albums you wanna play over and over. Check this track and download the entire album, you wont regret it, promise.

Also...they'll be in SF @ Great American Music Hall April 14, unfortunately it's a sold out show. If you're in love with them, like I am, check Craigslist for poor saps sellin' theirs!

Flora walk with me.

If David Lynch was asked to retool Twin Peaks, Fredrik's latest would serve as an oustanding replacement to Badalamenti's score which played a significant role in both the series and movie. If you haven't seen either check them out STAT. In the meantime you can stream the entire album Flora on YouTube below.

Long live Sweden!

Lykke Li coming to Regency

At one point Lykke Li was lumped together (vocally) with her Swedish sister, Robyn. Not this time. With her newly released album, Wounded Rhymes, she breaks away from her bubblegum tinged past and instead takes you to a dark sexy space where you're guaranteed to 'Get Some'. If this clip is any indication her concert May 30 @ the Regency Ballroom should be awesome.

change never felt so good...

Roamin' through youtube I discovered this amazing song and eventually the group from Sweden. Both this live version and the original are amazing. Her voice reminds me a bit of an early Goldfrapp with the operatics and as an avid whistler (yes I'm a dork) the end is superb. Make sure to check out the Panamah remix of the song as well. Let's see if we can get them to the States!

Im'ma make it Hz.

So listen up, it's new, it's rough, it's gonna hurt. Not gonna claim to be groudbreakin'; just givin' you options you may not have considered before. Let it begin...
